This is a clutch where I had two males in with the female – one was the Mystery Pied male and the other was an OD YB Enchi Hurricane Pied. I was really hoping for the Hurricane boy to be the father, but he might have been a little young still, and the Mystery Pied male has proven to be the father of this clutch.
I was very anxious to see what the Mystery Pied had in his genetics so I paired him with a number of females, including a Het Pied, a clutch that hatched out last week. Turns out that he is a great breeder and sired all three clutches that I got over the past couple of months.
It looks as though the Mystery Pied male has Banana, something that never came up in the discussions with the breeder – and that is no slight to the breeder at all – I bought this snake as a pure gamble…could have had a couple of genes or could have had many. As it turns out the Banana has made some really nice looking babies and the pieds that came out of that pairing are very cool.
